help support me in the tour de cure!
on june 20th, 2010, i will be joining up with freinds and riding a one hundred mile century in the american diabetes association's tour de cure fundraising event! this is a huge undertaking for me and i am stoked to be a part of it. i know far too many people whose lives have been affected by diabetes to not face up to the challenge of this ride. special thanks to my good friend mike hamberger for getting the team together, and giving us yet another reason to ride.
your gracious donations will help support me as i ride with team hamberger time in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes. click here to donate online
and as a small gift of appreciation from me, if you haven't already, please download my newest ep "when no one else is here" for free.
right up there with music, cycling has been a passion of mine for quite some time. there is something absolutely magic about pedaling around a deserted city at 3 in the morning, or hitting country roads and trails in the middle of the week when most people are at work. it's the sound and scenery that roll by you just slow enough to really take in, but not so slow that you'll grow weary of it all. it's bliss. there's also something wonderful about the mechanics of the bike itself, and taking the time to get dirty and keep parts lubricated, tires properly inflated, so on and so forth. below you'll find pictures of the bike i will be riding in the tour de cure, it has seen a couple different configurations and component swaps since i purchased it earlier this year. one of the best things about this bike is that it is versatile enough to handle many different riding situations, and i can only imagine it serving me well on the tour. special thanks to carytown bicycle company for helping me get on this bike in the first place, and for providing most of the parts i've swapped around.
